We had great weather and great play from the 18 kids that showed up yesterday at Avalon Oaks. We started out with putting practice from the treehouse. We then reinforced last weeks lesson of forehand/backhand grips. Lastly, our resident pro Mitchell Puttbach taught a great lesson of standstill throwing form. These kids are really growing in their understanding of the game and buying into what they are being taught. So much fun! Next up, Leland! 3/22

Harbor Church

We has amazing weather for our 2nd stop, Harbor Church. We had 16 kids (4 new) show up on a beautiful day. Andrew Lamont taught a lesson on forehand/backhand grips, while the advanced group was assisted by Carson Ham. In addition, we emphasized kids keeping their own scores which went really well. These kids really seem to be stepping up to the challenges we are setting for them.

The weather was less than ideal, 40 degrees blowing 15mph. Honestly we didn't know what to expect. I happy to report we had 18 excited kids show up and show us the future is bright for our area. We started with putting station to get them warmed up. Next they moved to a distance challenge where Hunter Feil tossed one an impressive 355ft. After we had short teaching moment, the two older groups were sent out to play 18 holes. We had 2 cards of younger kids who played 9 holes. I had the youngest group, and while I thought it might be bit like herding cats, all the kids well mannered and a joy to be around.
Once the oldest group finished up, they returned to grab their new tags. AJ Lehmann took the win with a solid (-2). AJ wanted a new car for his victory so I gave him a pat on the back. Great day!

We had another day of great weather and great players. 18 kids showed and up had a great time. We started with some tree house putts, and then moved onto building on forehand and backhand grips we learned about last week. After the the warmup they had a great lesson our local pro Mitchell Puttbach. The older kids begged to play a doubles round, so off they went.
